Beyoncé launches hair care brand Cécred

World-famous star Beyoncé has finally introduced the hair care brand Cécred, which she has been working on for a long time, to the consumers. The brand’s first collection, called Foundation Collection, currently includes eight products, including shampoo, conditioner, hair oil and rice water-based protein treatments.

Beyoncé first announced in May last year that she would launch a hair care line called Cécred. Since then, the singer has been busy working on her upcoming country album, as well as her Renaissance world tour.

The star made her comeback with the hair care brand earlier this month with an Instagram post featuring a home video from her childhood. In the video, young Beyoncé vacuums her mother’s living room in Houston, Texas, which she previously mentioned was her first job and the highlight of her childhood.

This video was an indication that Cécred was now officially launched. The brand is headed not only by the famous singer, but also by her mother Tina Knowles and her long-time hairstylist Neal Farinah.

The collection currently includes seven products called the Foundation Collection. In addition to a moisturizing shampoo, double-shampoo scalp scrub and deep conditioner, the product range also includes a restorative mask, hair lotion and two-ingredient rice water-based protein treatment.

The brand’s website also teases a moisturizing conditioner scheduled to launch soon and touts a new patent-pending innovation: a bioactive keratin technology designed to repair damaged hair.

Speaking to Essence about her new brand, Beyoncé said: “Cécred is an old project for me, probably the one that goes back to my ancestors the most. This is way beyond the point. Hair is our lineage; This is our family story. “With access to proven ingredients and the ability to create our own patent-pending technology, we now have a product line that works universally.”
